History:
In 2012, ESCRYPT GmbH, a spin-off of the Ruhr University Bochum founded in 2004, was acquired by ETAS. Since then, ESCRYPT GmbH has become the market leader in automotive cybersecurity with customers all over the world. Until the end of 2021, ESCRYPT GmbH was run as an independent subsidiary before it was integrated into ETAS GmbH at the beginning of 2022.
