Promoting the transfer of IT and information security technology between science and industry since 1999.

Founded in 1999, Eurobits is the European Competence Centre for Security in Information Technology. The only one of its kind in Europe, this alliance of leading research institutes, established companies and young growth enterprises focuses primarily on collaboration and transfer between science and industry in the field of IT and information security.

Interdisciplinarity and a dovetailing of research and practical applications are what distinguish Eurobits. Its principle objective is to combine international cutting-edge university research with world-class training and further education, then enabling technology companies and start-ups to put this considerable know-how to commercial use.
The foundation and subsequent growth of eurobits have been in large part due to the personal support of the company Dr.- Ing. E.h. Horst Görtz.

The “eurobits Excellence Award” has been awarded since 2017. The prize, endowed with € 1,000, is awarded annually for the preparation of a thesis that, in addition to scientific excellence, must in particular demonstrate high practical relevance for applications in IT security/information security.

We look forward to an exchange with you and are open to the integration of other relevant companies of high quality.
